Southlake roofs are not all composition, and that narrows the field
Most of Southlake went up from the late 1980s onward as large-lot custom housing, and the architecture that came with that is steep, complicated and frequently clad in something other than asphalt. Concrete and clay tile on the Mediterranean and Tuscan elevations, natural slate on a handful, standing seam on porches, bays and turret roofs even where the main field is composition.
That matters when you are choosing a contractor, because tile and slate are work most roofing companies in this market do not do in house. What that looks like from the homeowner’s side is either a subcontractor you never meet or a conversation about why a composition roof would really be fine on your house. We install composition, metal, tile and slate, so the question of what belongs on the roof does not have to be answered by what a crew happens to carry.
Same Standard Everywhere
What the roofs are made of here is not the same from one side of the county to the other.
Steep and cut-up costs more than square footage suggests
A Southlake roof plan usually has a lot of planes in it: multiple gables, dormers, valleys where three roofs meet, and a pitch steep enough to need staging and fall protection rather than a pair of boots. Every valley and every penetration is detail work, and detail work is where labor goes.
So two houses with the same roof area can be a long way apart on price, and a bid that is priced purely by the square is a bid from somebody who has not looked at the roof. The free inspection exists partly for this reason: the number is worth having in writing before anybody starts.
Our office is on West Southlake Boulevard
JWC works out of 515 W Southlake Blvd, which puts the office a few minutes from most of the residential grid north and south of 1709 and inside a short run of the 114 corridor. Southlake is where the company is based rather than a city on a list.
The commercial side of the same corridor is a different kind of roof. Town Square, the office parks and the retail along 114 are largely low-slope, which is TPO, PVC and modified bitumen work, and it is inspected by a HAAG Certified Inspector rather than treated as a large house.

Roofing contractor in Southlake, answered
Do you work on tile and slate roofs in Southlake?
Yes, in house. Tile usually needs a lift and relay rather than new tile, because what wears out is the underlayment beneath it rather than the tile itself.
Will my HOA need to approve the shingle color?
Several Southlake neighborhoods have architectural standards that cover roofing material and color, and some require approval before work starts. Check your covenants early, because the approval is usually the slowest part of the schedule.
Does Southlake require a roofing permit?
Permit requirements for reroofing vary by city and by scope. We handle the permitting where the city requires it, and the inspection report tells you what the scope is going to be.
How far from Southlake do you work?
Across the Metroplex. Most of the residential work is northeast Tarrant, and the commercial work goes wherever the building is.
