Repair
What the job actually involves.
Most roof leaks are not holes in the field of the roof. They are at the places where the roof stops being a roof: a chimney, a skylight, a wall, a vent pipe, a valley where two planes meet. Water gets in at one of those, runs along the deck or down a rafter, and shows up on a ceiling several feet away from where it started. Which is why a stain in the middle of a bedroom ceiling rarely means the problem is in the middle of the roof.
Finding the source is the actual work. A repair that patches the stain instead of the entry point looks fixed until the next long rain. We trace it from both sides where we can get into the attic, because the path water takes is visible on the underside of the deck long before the drywall shows anything.
How It Works
Call or send the form
Tell us what you are seeing and where the property is. A storm date helps if there was one.
Free inspection
About 15 to 20 minutes on the roof and in the attic, and you get a written report with photographs to keep.
The scope, in writing
What the roof needs, what it costs, and on a claim, what the carrier has and has not allowed for.
The work
Roof first, then the gutters, fence, windows or siding if the storm took those too. One company for the lot.
The Difference
Where these go wrong.
The common ones in North Texas have short lists. Pipe boots are rubber, rubber cracks in the sun, and a fifteen-year-old boot is usually the answer. Wind lifts shingles along a rake edge and breaks the seal strip without taking the shingle off, so the roof looks intact from the ground. Hail bruises the mat without cracking it, and the granule loss shows up a year later. Flashing pulls away from a wall as the house moves on North Texas clay.
Sometimes the answer is that the roof is at the end of its life and a repair buys a season. We will say that. Sometimes the answer is that a roof somebody told you was finished has years left in it, and we will say that too. A repair costs a fraction of a replacement, and a roofer who cannot bring himself to recommend one is not worth the visit.

Before You Call
Repair, answered.
Can you match my existing shingles?
Usually close, rarely exactly. Shingles weather, and a color made ten years ago may not be in production. On a visible slope we will tell you how obvious the patch will be before we do it, and on a roof where the match would look bad, replacing one whole plane is sometimes the better answer.
Is a repair worth it on an old roof?
It depends on what is failing. A single cracked boot on a fifteen-year-old roof is worth fixing. Widespread granule loss with the mat showing through is the roof telling you it is finished, and a repair there is money spent twice. We will tell you which one you have.
My ceiling is stained but I cannot see anything wrong on the roof. Why?
Because water travels. It enters at a flashing or a penetration, runs along the top of the deck or down a rafter, and drops through the insulation somewhere else entirely. Finding the entry point is most of the job, and it is why a repair starts with a look rather than a quote.
Do you charge for the inspection?
No. The property or roof inspection is free, takes about 15 to 20 minutes, and you get a written report with photographs for your records whether or not you have us do the work.
What if it is raining right now?
Call anyway. Tarping is a different job from repairing and it can be done in conditions a repair cannot, which keeps the water out of the drywall until the weather passes and the actual fix can be done properly.
